Quit Smoking Hypnosis
Stop Smoking Hypnosis
Quit Smoking Hypnosis has helped many smokers become nonsmokers. Many people smoke as they believe that the action relieves stress, relieves boredom and increases relaxation. That’s wrong. Smoking increases stress and boredom and it impedes relaxation.
Why it feels like it is relaxing, is because when you go to have a cigarette “to relax” you are doing three other particular things. Firstly, you are removing yourself from the stressful situation. You have to ‘go somewhere’ to smoke. Secondly, you are distracting yourself by doing another activity. Lastly, you are taking deep breaths. These three aspects are the basis of relaxation.
You can do these three things just as easily without smoking!
Have You Tried To Quit Smoking Before?
If you haven’t been successful at giving up smoking in the past, it is simply an opportunity to do so now! Our approach in helping you become a non-smoker is through hypnosis. Using hypnosis techniques specifically for smoking cessation we deal with the underlying reasons specific and unique to you, that cause you to smoke.
If you have tried to quit smoking in the past and been unsuccessful, you may have found that:
- You started to put on weight
- For no real reason at all you went back to the habit
- You did not want to deal with withdrawals symptoms
- Other smokers were frequently around you
- You thought you would have just one, and it became more
- Things around you reminded you of smoking
- You couldn’t relax and felt stressed
- A friend gave you a cigarette
- Socialising is difficult or uncomfortable without smoking
- A traumatic experience made you go back to the habit
- There was some other reason you started smoking again
Don’t worry, if you are ready to stop smoking for good, our quit smoking hypnosis will help by removing many of the common reasons that may undermine your success, before they can even occur. For example, when giving up smoking by either going cold turkey or with help from smoking aids, you might unknowingly replace your cigarettes for food. This can lead to unwanted weight gain and may have been you reasoning for failure in the past. However, with quit smoking hypnosis we remove the withdrawal symptoms from the addictive habit-forming aspects of smoking cigarettes and replace them with alternative healthy behaviours that are good for your body.
The Real Cause Of Why People Smoke
None of the main quit smoking methods focus on this real cause of smoking. That’s why they don’t work and that is why you are still smoking. The biggest reason why people don’t stop smoking cigarettes is that smoking is a psychological issue and not the physical addiction you believe. In other words smoking cigarettes isn’t really under control of your conscious mind, but rather it is controlled by your subconscious. Have you ever noticed that you smoke in basically the same situations every day? The most common times to smoke are:
- First thing in the morning
- After a meal
- With a coffee
- On the phone
- While driving
- At certain times at work
- In stressful situations
- With certain other people
- While drinking alcohol
When you do something repeatedly it forms a habit. The average smoker smokes around 25 cigarettes a day. Each cigarette involves around 10 repetitions of raising your hand up to your mouth, taking a puff and lowering your hand down again. That’s 250 repetitions every day. What else do you do 250 times a day? Nothing! Except breathing (and that’s a good habit to have).
Do you think a habit might form if you did something 200 times every day? You bet it would! And when you do this repeatedly in certain situations (as listed above) the habit gets linked to those situations. So whenever you find yourself in a situation where you regularly smoke, this automatic habit will take over and lead you to light up a cigarette.
Ceasing The Smoking Habit
Did you know 70% of smokers would like to quit? Everyone knows it’s bad for your health and it’s becoming more and more antisocial. Whether smoking is a habit or an addiction for you, hypnosis can make it much easier to quit. If you have tried to stop smoking before, but you found it difficult, or if you started smoking again, then you will love quit smoking hypnosis. Maybe you are too scared to try quitting in case it’s difficult. You might be concerned about managing your stress without cigarettes, or putting on weight. Many smokers simply enjoy smoking. Whatever is stopping you from quitting the habit, quit smoking hypnosis can help.
The first step is to ask yourself is, why do I want to stop smoking?
- Are you being pressured to make a decision to stop smoking.
- Does your family want you to stop
- Are you pregnant and you want to stop for the health and well-being of your unborn child?
- Has your doctor advised you to stop smoking?
- Do you have children and you’re afraid of second-hand smoke around them?
- Is there a change in your health and the doctor has advised you to stop smoking?
Whatever your reason remember you can only change if you want to. If you don’t actually want to stop smoking, or someone has strongly encouraged you to quit, maybe even pushed or threatened “You better quit cigarettes or else . . .” you are not ready. Why? because no one can make you do anything you don’t want to do. You must decide for yourself that you want to quit smoking cigarettes. If you are ready to change, read on.
NB: The success of hypnosis therapy for smoking cessation depends greatly on your ability to relax and your desire to create change in yourself.
Benefits Of Quit Smoking Hypnosis
Congratulations – you have either already made the decision to stop smoking now or are in the process of making that decision. Either way – you want to quit smoking to better your life and we want to support you in that goal. A person who is not motivated to become a nonsmoker does not go looking for a solution – so you are already motivated. You took action and said to yourself “My own thinking is not working here. Maybe I need to listen to some new thoughts. Maybe I need a coach to help me change my thinking”.
What Happens During A Quit Smoking Hypnosis Session?
During the Quit Smoking Hypnosis session you will be asked about your smoking history and what triggers you to light up. You will also be asked why you want to stop. Many smokers have mixed feelings about quitting but your therapist will work with you to strengthen your commitment to stop smoking. During the session you will experience Hypnosis, which is a natural state of focused attention, and a way for communicating directly with the subconscious mind with added suggestions for change. These suggestions work automatically to eliminate your desire and cravings to smoke. You will also be given some stress management techniques and a number of tips to make the transition to becoming a non-smoker as easy and comfortable as possible.
After the first quit smoking session, the majority of people will simply stop smoking. However, our Quit Smoking Hypnosis program actually includes two treatment sessions. The second session usually occurs a couple of weeks on from your first treatment. This session is a check-in to see how you are going. You will again experience hypnosis and we will fine-tune any suggestions to ensure that your success is permanent. Although, we find, most people are living smoke-free and do not need it.
Timeline Of Health Recovery After Giving Up Smoking
After a Quit Smoking hypnosis treatment session – when you quit smoking for good, some people feel:
- as if they have never been a smoker. They don’t think about cigarettes and they go through life as if cigarettes don’t exist.
- great, they have no cravings and after a week or so they have a fleeting thought about a cigarette. As quickly as the thought comes, the thought is gone. And they go about doing what they were doing.
After your quit smoking hypnosis treatment you need to be aware that there are things that could try and trick you into having a cigarette. They might be getting into the car or having a cup of coffee and the thought of a cigarette occurs. As long as you remember to say no to that thought, and yes to breathing only fresh air, you will be fine. You will continue to do other things and the thought will pass
